How to get a Story URL

  1. Copy the URL from the Website, or hit share and copy the URL on the App.
  2. For example, wattpad.com/story/9341306-news-updates.
  3. www.wattpad.com/1623482034-news-updates is okay too.
  4. Paste the URL and hit Download!

How to download an AltHistory story as a PDF

  1. Open the AltHistory story you want. Its address should look like https://althistory.com/threads/some-story-name.123456/.
  2. Copy the full story URL from your browser’s address bar.
  3. Paste the URL into the download box above.
  4. Select PDF as the output format.
  5. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
  6. Sign in to Discord for free when prompted, then start the download.

WP Downloader recognizes the AltHistory link and gathers the threadmarked chapters into a single PDF.

What the PDF contains

The finished PDF contains the story’s threadmarked chapters. Since AltHistory stories are forum threads, WP Downloader uses the threadmarks to find and arrange the chapters for the book.

You can also include the story’s images in the download.

WP Downloader downloads the whole story. It cannot download a single chapter or a list of stories from AltHistory. When the author adds chapters, download the story again to get the latest available threadmarks.

PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. For a format made for ebook reader apps, use the AltHistory to EPUB converter. EPUB is free for everyone. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files, and it cannot add new chapters to an EPUB you previously downloaded.

You do not need an AltHistory account. Paste the public thread URL into the download box.

The Discord sign-in is required for PDF output and is separate from AltHistory. You can download an EPUB without signing in to Discord.
