How to get a Story URL

  1. Copy the URL from the Website, or hit share and copy the URL on the App.
  2. For example, wattpad.com/story/9341306-news-updates.
  3. www.wattpad.com/1623482034-news-updates is okay too.
  4. Paste the URL and hit Download!

How to download a story from The Sietch

  1. Open the story thread on The Sietch and copy its URL. It should look like https://www.the-sietch.com/index.php?threads/some-story-name.123456/.
  2. Paste the link into the download form above.
  3. Select EPUB as the output format.
  4. Choose whether to include images from the story.
  5. Start the download and save the EPUB to your device.

What the EPUB includes

WP Downloader puts the threadmarked chapters from the story into a single EPUB. It downloads the whole story, so individual chapters, reading lists, and other collections are not supported.

To get chapters posted after your download, paste the story link again and create a new EPUB. WP Downloader cannot add chapters to an existing file.

You can use the The Sietch to PDF converter if you prefer PDF. PDF downloads require a free Discord sign-in. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files.

The Sietch support was ported from FanFicFare, the open-source fanfiction downloader, along with support for the other fiction archives on the supported sites page.

Signing in to The Sietch

Public stories do not require an account. You can sign in with your The Sietch account to download members-only stories that the account can already read.

WP Downloader uses your credentials only to fetch the story you requested. It cannot bypass locked content, paywalls, or age restrictions.

Can I download one chapter from a The Sietch thread?

No. WP Downloader collects the threadmarked chapters and downloads the whole story as one book.

Why are some posts missing from the EPUB?

WP Downloader uses the thread’s chapter threadmarks. Replies and other discussion posts that are not marked as chapters are left out.

Do I need a The Sietch account?

Public stories do not require one. Signing in is optional and lets WP Downloader reach members-only stories that your account has permission to read.

Can I add newly posted chapters to my existing EPUB?

No. Paste the story link again and download a new copy containing the latest available threadmarked chapters.
