How to get a Story URL

  1. Copy the URL from the Website, or hit share and copy the URL on the App.
  2. For example, wattpad.com/story/9341306-news-updates.
  3. www.wattpad.com/1623482034-news-updates is okay too.
  4. Paste the URL and hit Download!

How to download a Kakuyomu story as a PDF

  1. Open the story on Kakuyomu and copy its URL. It should look like https://kakuyomu.jp/works/12341234123412341234.
  2. Paste the URL into the download box above.
  3. Select PDF as the output format.
  4. Choose whether to include the story’s images.
  5. Sign in with Discord when prompted. The sign-in is free and required for PDF downloads.
  6. Follow the instructions to create and download the PDF.

What the PDF contains

The PDF contains the complete Kakuyomu story, with its Japanese text as published on the site.

Kakuyomu downloads cover whole stories. Individual chapters and reading lists are not supported. If you prefer an ebook format for reading apps and ereaders, use the free Kakuyomu to EPUB converter.

You can choose whether to include the story’s images. WP Downloader does not create MOBI, AZW3, or TXT files, and it cannot add new chapters to a file you have already downloaded. Submit the Kakuyomu link again whenever you want a newer copy.

You do not need a Kakuyomu account. Paste the work URL into WP Downloader and continue.

Discord sign-in is required for PDF downloads. It is separate from Kakuyomu and is not required when downloading an EPUB.

WP Downloader only downloads content that is already available to you. It does not bypass paywalls, locked chapters, age restrictions, or other access controls.

What kind of Kakuyomu link should I paste?

Use the main work URL, such as https://kakuyomu.jp/works/12341234123412341234. WP Downloader downloads the complete story, so you do not need to submit each chapter separately.

Do I need a Kakuyomu account?

No. Kakuyomu downloads do not require a Kakuyomu sign-in. You only need a free Discord sign-in when creating a PDF.

Can I download just one chapter?

No. WP Downloader only downloads complete Kakuyomu stories. It does not support individual chapters or lists from this site.

Why is my old PDF missing newer chapters?

WP Downloader cannot update an existing file. Paste the story link into the Kakuyomu to PDF downloader again to create a new copy. You can also visit Help or browse the full list of supported sites.
